Waiting on your refund?
The fastest answer comes from the IRS. Their Where’s My Refund tool shows your refund status with your SSN or ITIN, filing status and exact refund amount. OweRight never asks for those.
You will leave oweright.ai. OweRight is not affiliated with the IRS.
Got a letter instead of a refund?
Some IRS letters pause or change a refund. If one arrived, scan it with OweRight to see what it says and what to do next.
- 5071C, 4883C or 5747C: the IRS needs you to verify your identity before it releases the refund.
- CP05: the IRS is reviewing your return.
- CP75: the IRS is auditing a credit and holding part of the refund.
- CP12: the IRS corrected your return and your refund changed.
- CP49: the IRS used your refund to pay a tax debt.
- CP53: your refund is coming as a paper check.
If a letter asks you to call or visit a website, check the number or address on irs.gov first. OweRight explains letters; it is not tax, legal or financial advice.
